Alexander bridges digital and analog photography, integrating modern SLR cameras with vintage and self-constructed lenses. His images live in blur, aperture quirks, and chance reflections. Imperfection becomes a strategy: instability and material trace stay visible, intuition takes the lead. The result is a visual language that resists perfection.
He grew up in the 80s, when analog was simply photography, not a choice. Digital arrived later. He never liked to pick a side.
A self-taught artist, he uses lenses that fail more often than they work. He counts that as a feature. A long-standing meditation practice taught him something similar: to sit with things far longer than seems necessary. What lands on the sensor never quite settles into a single moment.
Alexander was born on Halloween night in the northern Black Forest, where he grew up at the edge of the woods. Currently based in Stuttgart, Germany.
